Dr. Carrero was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  In 2021, she obtained a B.S. in Animal Sciences from University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez Campus.  She received her DVM from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2025.  

Dr. Carrero is passionate about making veterinary visits less stressful for both pets and their owners.  Her interested include surgery, behavioral medicine and internal medicine.  She has a special place in her heart for shelter medicine and fostering.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, family and friends, shopping and cuddling with her cat.
