After completing his DVM degree and internship at the University of Florida, Dr. Grant completed an internal medicine residency at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. He stayed on as a professor, getting to know most of the Doctors here at Vinton Veterinary Hospital while they were students. Dr. Grant has been a board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. This means he has advanced knowledge when it comes to problems such as thyroid, gastrointestinal, lung, kidney, liver, spleen, urinary, neuromuscular problems and many more. In addition to teaching, doing research (mostly in urology), and practicing at VMCVM, Dr. Grant has also practiced Internal Medicine in private specialty referral hospitals and other university hospitals. Dr. Grant is here to help you, your pet, and your veterinarian.

Dr. Grant has many animals, currently composed of chickens, guinea pigs and dogs. He has a special love for older dogs in shelters.
